A relaxing mountain escape awaits you!

Cabin Five

Camp Davis is set in a high valley of the Sangre de Christo mountains in northern New Mexico. We are at 8500 feet and enjoy four distinct seasons, each beautiful in its own way. We began as a summer camp for kids, and our facilities retain a rustic but comfortable character.

Our full-size commercial kitchen turns out delicious family-style meals in the large dining room: our head cook for the last 40 years, Ida Martinez, is now working alongside her daughters to put out that famous Camp Davis fare.

The spacious Rec Hall is the scene of nightly ping pong tournaments, card games, knitting circles, talent shows, sing-alongs, and just plain visiting; the front porch of the Rec Hall is an excellent vantage point for watching touch football games and frisbee competitions.

Rec Hall

The Big House, an adobe structure built around 1900 as the main house for the surrounding cattle ranch, is a homey gathering place for guests - especially the raised front porch facing the pasture and mountains across the road.

Across the spring-fed creek, our cabins nestle under ancient evergreens. We have 8 log-sided cabins which sleep up to 10 campers. Each has a selection of log bunkbeds and free-standing, larger beds, and each is equipped with a fireplace, mini-fridge, and bathroom/shower. Camp Davis is not a dude ranch! Accommodations are simple and not fancy, and many guests tell us that this is a large part of the charm of their stay at Camp.

You can't beat the scenery at Camp Davis: the road ends with us, so there is very little traffic or noise. We are set in a valley with wide meadows and wooded mountains all around: you can take a day hike to the top of Cebolla Peak, a 12,000-foot mountain, and have a snowball fight at the top!
